Winston Churchill Dental is asking you to help the fight against malaria. Malaria is a life-threatening blood disease, usually caused by a parasite transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. Although malaria is a preventable and treatable disease, it continues to be a huge concern in Africa. According to Plan Canada, over 600,000 lives are lost to malaria. Mostly affected are pregnant women and young children.
But there is hope. Since 2007, the Spread the Net initiative has protected and possibly saved the lives of over 7.2 million people by delivering more than 2.5 million bed nets in Africa. The Bed Nets are insecticide-treated, making them an effective and inexpensive way to prevent the mosquitoes from biting when adults and children are asleep.
One bed net can protect two people up to three years.
So, how can YOU help? Tell everyone! For the month of February, Winston Churchill Dental will purchase one “bed net” for every new LIKE of our Facebook page! Click here to LIKE us!
