Intraoral Camera

Watch your teeth on TV! You will be able to see exactly what we see when we examine your mouth with a high-resolution intraoral camera. The camera also helps us to get an up close view of your teeth and gums that is superior to traditional x-rays.

How an Intraoral Camera Works

An intraoral camera is a small digital camera placed at the end of a small wand. It has lighting, a head that rotates and the ability to greatly magnify an area. We place this wand in your mouth to give you a tooth-by-tooth video examination. The camera takes pictures which we can then view together on a television screen. These images capture superior detail as they are able to target specific areas, allowing us to enlarge and view these areas more closely. This allows us both to see problems such as broken teeth, plaque, decay, gum disease, and cracked fillings and to make appropriate treatment decisions.

We want you to be fully informed of the health of your teeth and gums. An intraoral camera is a great way to show you exactly what we see, and then make recommendations for your dental health.
